Thanksgiving Countdown - T-Minus 2 Days

I'm back in my hometown for Thanksgiving, and preparations are underway for quite the Turkey Day feast.

While I get my homemade vanilla ice cream and stuffing and sweet potatoes and marshmallow sauce ready, I'm working on getting into the spirit of Thanksgiving.

My cousin Emily is eight years old, and her poem was published in her school paper.
Miss Em is quite the creative kid, and she's just one of the many people I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving.

So even as I work on my long, long to-do list, I'm going to remember why I love the holiday season, and the fabulous people that make me smile every day.

How are you getting in the holiday spirit? Baking? Cooking? Getting on your Thanksgiving Pants?

  1. Love love love the Friends reference. My favorite one is the one where Joey puts the turkey on his head. My roomies and I watch all the Thanksgiving episodes of Friends and a Charlie Brown Christmas to get in the spirit. Also, just planning a Thanksgiving feast for our college friends before we go home for actual Thanksgiving is one of the best ways to get in the spirit!!
